WHO OWNS IT?

WHO OWNS IT?

'Who owns it?' This question possesses a lot of other mind-blowing
questions with varying answers to them! We can look up the word OWN in
the dictionary and it would definitely give us three-faced answers with
many options to suit our situations or ourselves! The property you own
- possess is yours but 'who owns' the raw materials used to build the
structure? The car you are driving now is yours, but 'who owns' the
money, the steel structure of the car or the total raw materials used
for the car?

I experienced a rather funny situation sometime back of which my spirit
has been pressed to put down on paper. On a Saturday morning, I bought
raw pap - a Nigerian meal and left it in the kitchen but my younger
brother then went to the kitchen later that morning and prepared the
pap and I coincidentally went to the kitchen at about the same time he
had finished preparing the pap, I took the pap and he had the attitude
that he owned that pap but I told him to prepare another one for
himself. As I was eating, it came to mind that when he told me that he
owned the pap; I said to myself that I bought the raw pap in the first
place. God asked me who owns the money. I told Him that I worked for
the money, but he asked me who owns the work.

It all now dawned on me that I didn't own the work but was only
privileged and had the opportunity to be working; more so to even wake
up in the morning as He God owns the air I breath. I cried back to God
for mercy as the reality of 'who owns it?' washed over my whole being
and I knew for real that I didn't own it at all and wasn't going to own
it but only a steward - worker, custodian for His majesty here on
earth.

I have had to read over and over again the stories of 'the rich fool'
who never knew that he didn't own it at all but God in His majesty gave
him the privilege to be steward in His vineyard. Our prayer should be
that of total submission to God and always know that "we do not own it,
but God does".

I pray that this piece will strike cord and make us more submissive to
God's ways at all times not withholding anything that He God demands
from us.
