DOES LOVE COVER OVER?

A lot of people claimed she was crabby, irritating, and high-maintenance. Others said critical, negative, and self-centered. Not exactly glowing character attributes. Maybe our distant relative was all those things. Maybe, maybe not. But I loved her. She thought I hung the moon. She was crazy about me.
For many years, while I was growing up, my grandma lived with us. She was elderly, in not great health much of the time, and lonely for family either gone to be with the Lord or far away. I know she sometimes got on my mom’s nerves, and not a few times she and my sister would argue. But I could do no wrong in her eyes. No matter what it was, I always came out ‘smelling like a rose’ in her estimation. I knew it. And I loved her.
It is WONDERFUL to be loved so much, and so unconditionally. Sort of the way God loves us. It is truly my hope and prayer that the Love I have in my heart, for my husband, children, grandchildren, and others, will cover over my faults and shortcomings.
Yes, love does cover over, and as St. Paul tells us in the great Love chapter of the bible, 1st Corinthians 13, “Love never fails”.
That’s good news.
Prayer: Lord, teach me to love as you love. Thank you, Jesus. Amen.
Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. 1 Peter 4:8
