MY GREATEST COMPLIMENT

My school is in an economically depressed area. Most of my boys
come from single parent, matriarchal homes, and most of their
teachers are women.
Many times I felt like I was a "spinning top in the mud" to use
a local saying; like all my efforts to motivate teachers and
parents to fulfill their roles were useless.
One day when I was at my lowest ebb, a teacher came into the
office just to chat.
When she was leaving she said, "I want you, please, before you
leave, to bless me and pray that I might be able to do the job
like you when my turn comes around."
She left me agape. When I was able to start thinking again, I
thanked God for sending her at that moment.
Tomorrow she will be coming to my home to tie up some loose ends
before my imminent retirement.
I continue to call on the Holy Spirit to bless her with the
fullness of His gifts so that she will continue to serve the
Lord in the face of all adversity, seeing His face in the
deepest distresses of the poor.
PRAYER
"Lord Jesus, through your merciful love and forgiveness you bring healing and restoration to body, soul, and mind. May your healing power and love touch every area of my life -- my innermost thoughts, feelings, attitudes, and memories. Pardon my offences and transform me in the power of your Holy Spirit that I may walk confidently in your truth and righteousness."
