TODAY IN THE PHILIPPINES. HE WAS 46, DIED OF CONGESTIVE HEART
FAILURE AND STROKE. MAY PERPETUAL REST SHINE UPON HIM."

"Make me serve you and others
without pushing myself forward,
so that I may help my fellow men
without humiliating them.
Make me dedicate myself
to everything that is lowly
and unimportant in the world's eyes,
so that I may do the things
that no one else takes on.
Teach me to wait, to listen
and not to speak.
Make me humble and poor enough
to accept help from others.
Send me on my way in search of food --
in search of your name."

SPARKLE AND SHIMMER

Sparkle and Shimmer

You will be a crown of splendor in the Lord's hand, a royal diadem in the hand of your God. Isaiah 62:3

Those skinny white-trunked trees, related to the birches, are aspens. They are so beautiful. In summer, the heart shaped leaves are a lustrous green on top; the underside is a flat grayish green. As the breeze flutters through, the leaves sparkle and shimmer like no other tree. It is so eye-catching!

In autumn, the leaves turn a glorious gold, and when those small trees are massed together all over the face of a mountain, it is breathtaking.

Individually, we are - each one - beautiful, too. We are jewels, created by God, precious, priceless, and irreplaceable. When the breeze of God's Holy Spirit blows on us and through us, we sparkle and shimmer. It, too, is so eye-catching! Sparkling and shimmering - what a great way to effortlessly shine -and share -the love and beauty of God!

If you do not have a personal relationship with Him, seek Him today. Ask Him to send His spirit through you, like the breeze through the aspens. He will.

PRAYER
Lord, please come into my life anew today. Come, Holy Spirit, breathe newness of life into me. Thank you, Lord! In Jesus' name, Amen.
