IN THE ARMS OF MY PERFECT GOD

Streaks of light
Stir my soul into waking
And its Creator
Gently summons.
Into His presence I bring
This flawed life, this flawed self;
The flawed thoughts, the flawed past;
The flawed hopes, the flawed dreams;
This flawed love, this flawed heart.
Somewhere between
My shame and desperation
I fall into His embrace -
Perfectly loved, perfectly accepted, Perfectly forgiven.
Wrapped in His arms I yield -
Perfect guidance, perfect wisdom, Perfect will.
Bathed in this glorious luxury
I rise to face a flawed world
Perfectly His.
I know not
what forces of darkness
seek to do battle with me
Today.
He who is perfectly faithful
Knows perfectly.
All will be well.
PRAYER
"Lord Jesus Christ, your call to holiness extends to all in every state
of life. Sanctify our lives--as married couples and as singles-- that
we may live as men and women who are consecrated to you. Make us leaven
in a society that disdains life-long marriage fidelity, chastity, and
living single for the Lord."
