SEASONS

SEASONS
By Sally I. Kennedy
July 8, 2010

Ggive thanks in all circumstances; 1 Thessalonians 5:18

It is now officially summer. I love summer. The greens are so
vibrant, the flowers so brilliant, the sun so intense. Actually, I
like every season, although every season has its upside and downside.

Spring has the softest pale green new growth with beautiful buds about
to burst open. Spring also has crazy windy weather and surprising
cold snaps.

Autumn has dramatic color that takes your breath away, yet autumn can
have torrential rains and hurricanes.

Winter is peaceful, a time to rest and regroup. Winter can bring the
doldrums of cabin fever, and much work that comes with heavy snows.
Yet, after winter, comes spring, again….

For each season of our lives there are up and down sides, too; they
are all good. There is a time for everything*, and each serves its
own purpose. Thank you, God, for the seasons in our lives.

* Ecclesiastes 3:1-8 There is a time for everything, and a season
for every activity under heaven: a time to be born and a time to die,
a time to plant and a time to uproot, a time to kill and a time to
heal, a time to tear down and a time to build, a time to weep and a
time to laugh, a time to mourn and a time to dance, a time to scatter
stones and a time to gather them, a time to embrace and a time to
refrain, a time to search and a time to give up, a time to keep and a
time to throw away, a time to tear and a time to mend, a time to be
silent and a time to speak, a time to love and a time to hate, a time
for war and a time for peace.
