FOODFORTHOUGHT

for through him God created everything in the heavenly realms and on earth. He made the things we can see and the things we can't see--such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world. Everything was created through him and for him.  Colossians 1:16

Air Space

Dark clouds were filled with turbulence, heavy with it. We were in the thick of it. Moments before, when leaving the airport, the skies were gloriously cobalt with only a few clouds dotting the horizon.

The ride continued to be periodically bumpy. I was thinking, God made everything, including air space. Man made the plane but we were now occupying God's air space in the plane.

Coming in for a landing, we dipped, jolted and jarred. The middle-schooler kittycorner in front of me was grinning from ear to ear like we were on a really cool roller coaster. The person next to me was clutching the seatback in front of him. He was a retired ground controller and knew fully well we had no control over the air space.

When I was a white-knuckle scared to death flier, the Lord so kindly gave me a picture of what He was doing during one of these turbulent flights. It looked like angels rolled out a red carpet in front of the plane, right through the skies, then angels guided the plane along the red carpet 'til the air space was no longer bumpy. I love that mental image.

I was as glad as anyone aboard when we landed, and I am thankful for the peace God can give in the midst of turbulence.

God is guiding us through His air space. Nothing escapes His notice.  After all, it's all His air space.  That's good news.
