DADDY! DADDY! DADDY!

Daddy! Daddy! Daddy!

I heard my son cry out those words over and over as I walked
away. They hit my back like bricks thrown from a major league
pitcher, but I kept walking.

There was anguish, pain, and fear in his voice. He was in deep
water and dangerous territory. He was terrified as most of us
are when we feel overwhelmed and underpowered.

I had on an AirJesus cloak and he could see the back of my shirt,
which read AirJesus.com "Fly Fearlessly," fading as I turned the
corner. Flying fearlessly was the last thing he was doing.

He is young so he didn't know what the words meant.

My three oldest sons were in swimming class.
Christian, the three-year-old, was the last one to conquer his
fear and thus the tirade.

I had to walk away.

He kept seeing me on the side and would constantly call out for
Daddy. So I left to watch him from the natatorium balcony.
I was there and watching all along; they just couldn't see me
very easily.

When I first started them in swimming classes, I swam laps
while the instructor worked with them, but that was too
distracting for Christian. He kept calling for his daddy.

So I brought them to the instructor, freshly showered and in
their swimming suits and walked away.

The heavenly father has to do that with us.

Or else Christians will never learn how to navigate through the
deep.

times and rely on your grace in temptation. Let the fire of your Holy
Spirit burn in my heart and fill me with a consuming love for you."
