THE HARD WAY!

I asked God to take away my pride, and God said, "No!"
He said it was not for Him to take away, but for me to give up.
I asked God to make my handicapped child whole, and God said, "No!"
He said her spirit is whole, her body is only temporary.
I asked God to grant me patience, and God said, "No!"
He said that patience is a by-product of tribulation. It isn't granted,
it's earned.
I asked God to give me happiness, and God said, "No!"
He said He gives blessings, happiness is up to me.
I asked God to spare me pain, and God said, "No!"
He said suffering draws you apart from worldly cares and brings you
closer to Him.
I asked God to make my spirit grow, and He said, "No!"
He said I must grow on my own, but He will prune me to make me
fruitful.
I asked God for strength and he gave me difficulties in order to make
me strong.
I asked Him for wisdom and He gave me problems to solve.
I asked God for prosperity and He gave me brain to use.
I asked for courage and He gave me obstacles to overcome.
I asked for love and He gave me troubled people to help.
I asked for favors and He gave me opportunities.
I received nothing I wanted but I received everything I needed.
God is good to me. Praise Him.
I asked God if He loved me, and He said, "Yes!"
He gave me His only Son who died for me, and I will be in Heaven
someday because I believe and obey.
I asked God to help me love others as much as He loves me, and God
said, "Ah, finally, you have the idea."
And on the lighter side... An Illinois man left the snow filled streets
of Chicago for a vacation in Florida. His wife was on a business trip
and was planning to meet him there the next day.
When he reached his hotel, he decided to send his wife a quick e-mail.
Unable to find the scrap of paper on which he had written her e-mail
address, he did his best to type it in from memory. Unfortunately, he
missed one letter and his note was directed instead to an elderly
preacher's wife whose husband had passed away only the day before.
When the grieving widow checked her e-mail, she took one look at the
monitor, let out a piercing scream and fell to the floor in a dead
faint. At the sound, her family rushed into the room and saw this note
on the screen:
DEAREST WIFE; JUST GOT CHECKED IN. EVERYTHING IS PREPARED FOR YOUR
ARRIVAL TOMORROW. P.S. - IT SURE IS HOT DOWN HERE!
PRAYER
"Lord, you guide me by the light of your saving truth. Fill my heart
and mind with your light and truth and free me from the blindness of
sin and deception that I may see your ways clearly and understand your
will for my life. May I radiate your light and truth to others in word
and deed."
