IT'S EVERYWHERE

IT'S EVERYWHERE

Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of
them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor
forsake you. -Deuteronomy 31:6

How beautiful the river was. Not massively wide with impressive
grandiose trees along the banks. Simple, and wonderful. Here and there
were soft little eddies and pools, just resting in the water.

The water was clear as a bell and icy cold. From one place on the path
I could see that it moved with great speed and strength. Rocks of all
sizes - from pebbles to big boulders, smooth and round from the water's
continual washing - dotted the river bed and its banks.

The narrow park path wound all over the place. Up, down, over the
bridge, up again, sharp left turn, twisting and snaking, then down and
to the right. And everywhere I walked, there was the river. It hugged
the narrow path. No matter what turns the path took, the river was
right there by it. I thought, "It's everywhere!"

Then I thought of how our lives are so like that path, turning and
twisting all over the place. I thought of how the spirit of God is
always right there, too, by us throughout our lives, no matter how
curvy or straight our paths might be.

God has told us, "I will NEVER leave you nor forsake you" (Joshua 1:5).
Yes, it is true: "the Lord your God will be with you WHEREVER you go."
(Joshua 1:9)

Oh, thank, God! That is incredibly comforting......and really good
news.

PRAYER
"Lord, you refresh us with your presence and you sustain us with your
life-giving word. Show me how to lift the burden of others, especially
those who lack the basic necessities of life, and to refresh them with
humble care and service."
