BUILD ME AS YOUR SON, OH LORD!

Who will be strong enough to know when I am weak, Brave enough to face
myself when I am afraid; One who will be proud and unbending in honest
defeat Humble and Gentle in victory.
BUILD ME AS YOUR SON, OH LORD!
That my wishes will not take place of deeds; A son who will know Thee.
And that to know Thyself Is the foundation stone of knowledge. Lead me,
I pray, not in the path of ease & comfort. But under the stress and
spur of difficulties & challenge; Let me learn to stand up in the
storm. Let me learn compassion for those who fail.
BUILD ME AS YOUR SON, OH LORD!
Whose heart will be pure.
Whose vision will be clear,
Whose goal will be high;
A son who will master myself
Before I seek to master other men; One who will reach into the future
Yet never forget the past.
Grant me oh Lord with the best pasture of living Through my offering of
hard work, Patience, perseverance & determination. For all good things
comes from your Overflowing love, mercy & kindness.
Lord you said, it is not good for man to be alone. So I pray for the
woman whom you have prepared To be united with me and honor in your
sacrament of matrimony. Perfectly chosen to care, love & inspire thy
son. To whom I shall share your intimate love. The woman whom I shall
love with all of my life and soul. Accepts & trust me not on the basis
of earthly measure. Be the best mother of our children.
And after you grant all these gifts. Add, I pray, enough of a sense of
humor So that I may not always be serious, Yet never take myself too
seriously. Grant me humility, the simplicity of true greatness, The
open mind of true Wisdom. And the meekness of true strength
So that you my LORD, GOD & KING will dare to whisper;
"I HAVE NOT FAILED IN BUILDING HIM AS MY SON"
Through this deeds & gifts, I may not only Honor you Here on Earth but
also my Father & Mother whom you entrusted me.
