NEVER ALONE
Contributed by Melanie Schurr
Nov 19, 2006

I recall reading with great shock and wonder of some individuals,
mostly teens, who were so disturbed with their life they felt a need
to mutilate their bodies by pulling out their hair, bruising their
skin, or slashing their flesh with a razor. Those individuals willing
to speak openly about this revealed they felt so numb and empty inside
that the pain of the self-injury simply confirmed they were indeed
alive and could still feel.

I could not help but wonder if the emptiness they spoke of was the
result of lack of God in their lives. Did the absence of spiritual
nurturing leave each feeling like life held no real purpose other than
to eat, drink, be merry, and then fall to one's eventual death? Under
this mind set, it's no wonder one is left with a sense of
purposelessness, even hopelessness.

It is not our Heavenly Father's desire for us to be ignorant about our
spiritual welfare, nor for us to be estranged from His divine
presence. If we feel a void from Him, it is not because He has turned
His back on US, but WE who have ignored and rejected HIM and His Word.

Problems in life will always be there, but with God on our side we
will never be..alone.

Call on God today and invite Him into YOUR life.

PRAYER
"Lord, we are an Easter people, and alleluia is our song. May we radiate the joy of Easter and live in the reality of Christ's victory over sin and death."
